Most of my new release is written. A lot of it was recorded previously but I lost those masters so everything is being re-recorded. Now that the semester is over, I have plenty of time to work on the new album; expect a new release by mid-August. I really like the new direction and I’m having a lot of fun recording, so I’ll see you in a few months with something new.
Until then,
Mike

Here is a hint of what’s to come. I’m not saying everything I’m doing now sounds like this, but this is one of the better cuts and has already made the new album. So enjoy. You Got a Friend

The great thing about having master recordings in digital format is the ability to come back to them after a year and change them. I’ve had other personal stashes of master recordings lost to hard drive errors. Greetings is the only album for which I have the masters. Its nice to go back to them and improve them, but I’m also quite exited about a lot of new stuff I’m doing thats starting to come together. It’s taking longer than I expected but that because I’m meeting more people with which I want to record. Which is very cool. Wall (which was on the first cut) is gone, you’re probably not going to miss it, album flows better with it gone I think. Comments/whatever/anything always appreciated.

A general idea I had for a record label, found it while backing up my external HDD after hearing it click (not a good sign):

It’s a little ambitious, for me, myself. It would also require an investment in hosting which wouldn’t be repaid by site income without plenty of promotion and that itself is costly. The general idea is to encourage people/groups to write and record without feeling like they need a large investrment. Because it’s that simple and you shouldn’t let other people (like record executives) trick you into thinking otherwise.
